Today, let’s talk about white.
I am learning about the discerning use of white. It used to be that I would want to lighten a dark base and begin with that darker colour and mix in the white in a seemingly endless process. Wow! Did I “waste” a lot of paint!
Thank goodness for Youtube and access to online learning because I am beginning to be less of a mad scientist as I approach colour theory/mixing and pick up tips from the most wonderful, experienced artists.
This use of white to lighten and brighten is just a small tidbit that continues to help me on this journey as an artist. Goodness knows that my paint budget is a lot happier as I learn to practice a bit of restraint on the palette.
